Foreign Language Program

As we move further into the 21st century, and become a more global society, there is a need for tomorrow's future leaders to be not only multilingual, but also multi cultural. Due to the fact that Spanish is the 2nd most commonly spoken language in the world, the children at Countryside will study the language, and explore the many different cultures where Spanish is spoken.

At the primary level the children will have lessons on colors, numbers, grace and courtesy, animals, foods, songs, games and a host of many topics. At the elementary level the Spanish lessons learned at the primary level will be continued more in depth, but also history, poetry, geography and opportunities to interact with the Spanish-speaking community in the Chicago land area are part of the curriculum.

The goal for the children who complete the primary and elementary program at Countryside is that they will be comfortable interacting with Spanish-speaking people on a basic level, and that they will have an appreciation for different cultures.
