Respect is a person's worth or value.
Children will:
- Interact with peers, parents and adults with common courtesy.
- Recognize the authority of their parents and other adults in whose charge they are placed.
Parents and teachers will:
- Set clear, consistent and age-appropriate limits at home, at school and in public.
- Model the manners and courtesies of our culture at home, at school and in public.
Responsibility is recognizing the obligation to answer for one's actions.
Children will:
- Recognize needs within a community and take action to solve problems.
- Participate actively in the care of themselves and their environment.
- Contribute to the greater good at home and at school.
Parents and teachers will:
- Provide clear, timely and honest communication.
- Create and sustain safe, nurturing environments for learning.
- Define and clarify appropriate goals for children at home and at school
Resourcefulness is the ability to think independently and act assertively.
Children will:
- Develop independent problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with peers and adults to direct the course of their day.
Parents and teachers will:
- Share time with children diligently and in creative ways.
- Provide children with responsibilities sufficiently general and difficult as to require resourceful effort on their part.
