Greetings from the Head of School

If a child is interested he will learn. And when interested, his learning will be deep and lasting.

Although it may run counter to common experience, the children at Countryside want to go to school. The classrooms are rich with beautiful materials, enticing choices, experienced, dedicated teachers, and other interested learners. This combination creates a powerful experience unlike any other learning environment. The fact is that children needn't be forced to learn; they love to learn.

Academic knowledge, though, is just the beginning. The mission of Countryside Montessori School is to assist children in their quest to become responsible, resourceful, and respectful. This mission is shared by parents and teachers alike. Children are hungry to observe and absorb the social graces of their culture. Each family at Countryside has a partnership with the teachers that work with their children, and all contribute to making this mission real. Maria Montessori said: "Character formation cannot be taught. It comes from experience and not from explanation."
